Age
Children must turn 5 Years of age before the 30th of April in the year they are commencing school. Enrolment Area - St Peter's is part of the Parishes of Bentleigh East, Bentleigh and Moorabbin. Our school has a specific enrolment Zone within the Parish which encompasses the area of Bentleigh East and Oakleigh South. Any enrolments from outside this area must be dealt with on an individual basis.
Enrolment Procedure
An Enrolment form is obtained at the Open Day during Catholic Education Week each year when enrolments for the following year open. Families are required to provide a copy of their child’s Birth, Baptism and Immunization Certificate. Once enrolments close, the Principals from the 3 schools in the Parish meet to process the applications. Once a place has been offered at St Peter's the Principal or Co-ordinating Leader will have an interview with each family. At this appointment the Principal will:
  • Meet the child and parent/s
  • Explain the current Fee Payment Schedule
  • Answer any queries
  • Give insight into our school character
In late June or July a letter of offer for a place at St. Peter’s will be sent to you. You will be asked to send back the reply slip indicating your acceptance of this Prep placement for the coming year. The reply is to be accompanied by a $200 non-refundable deposit which will be deducted from Term 1 Fees of the year your child commences. We will also notify you of the following dates:
Prep Information Evening
The Information Evening will be held in October. Parent/s attend this night without children. You will be introduced to the Prep Teachers and will be provided with an overview of the St Peter’s Community. You will also be given an Information Pack which will enable you to make a smooth Transition to our school. Information regarding the ordering of the School Uniform will also be included in the Information Pack. We recommend that you initially purchase the Summer Uniform requirements and purchase winter options as required.
Each child attends the Transition Program
The Transition Program is held in November. Parents/Parent accompany their child. Children will then go to one of the Prep classrooms to complete an activity. The last Transition Day will be the Orientation Session where your child will spend time with their teacher and classmates for their Prep year. In the meantime, parents can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.  Please note enrolment for classes other than Prep also open on this day and remain open until the end of the year, if places are available. Please contact the School Office for details.
ACCEPTANCE OF A NON-CATHOLIC STUDENT AT OUR PARISH SCHOOL DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENROLMENT AT A CATHOLIC SECONDARY COLLEGE.
