Assessment & Reporting

Assessment
Assessment on student progress is continuous and ongoing. Assessment is integral to the teaching and learning cycle
and may consist of teacher observations, self and peer assessments, checklists, standardised formal assessments or
school based class assessments.
Assessment “for” learning is collected before and during the learning process to inform teaching and give direction
for learning.
Assessment “of” learning takes place at the end of a cycle of learning and provides summative information regarding
student achievement.

Reporting
Victorian Catholic Schools are required to provide parents with a clear written report twice a year. In 2016
schools will report on student achievement using a five-point scale.
We provide parents with written reports in June and December. In addition to these written reports, parent/teacher
meetings to report on student progress are offered in February and June of each year.

About St Paul's

St Paul’s School was opened in 1928 and until 1993, was operated by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, whose secondary college for girls’, OLSH, is located across Jasper Road. The main school building was designed as a church, with three classrooms on an upper level, and the building retains many of the original church features.
